Plague and Locusts: Ella Frost
“Ella’s work is informed by the urge to tell the truth and warp the truth simultaneously. Landscapes, intimate moments with friends and family members, their body and the constant questioning of identity count for the majority of their work.
Their art practice centres around sexuality, sexual health and marginality, an ongoing dialogue with, and extension to their role as Community Sexual Health Coordinator for West London.”
Ghosts, Ella Frost 2020
“Ghosts is a short naturalis[tic] film depicting the filmmakers existence in winter lockdown in London. With words from Monique Todd the film lightly explores boredom, isolation and nature.” – Ella Frost.
This short film is an impressionistic collage of the mundane moment and experiences of the artist during yet another pandemic generated lockdown in London. The immediacy and simplicity of these experiences make them relatable to all familiar with the condition of isolation and solitude. In a way this moving image work becomes a documentation and a laconic social commentary.
Ella Frost has graduated with Bachelor of Science, Audio and Music Technology, 2011 University of the West of England in Bristol. Her interests lie in the field of sectual health, to which she dedicates her professional and creative energy.
